How to create a new Teams Meeting
Working remotely is more popular than ever, and Teams has really enabled us to be able to easily schedule, host and organise team video meetings. Needing to know how to get started? Here’s your easy guide!

Open Microsoft Teams:
There’s every chance we’ve already helped you get up and running on Teams. However,
- If you haven’t installed Microsoft Teams, download and install it from the official website.
- Open the Teams application on your computer or use the web version.

Sign In:
- Sign in with your Microsoft account or your work/school account associated with Microsoft Teams.
- On the left-hand side, click on the “Calendar” tab. This is where you can view and schedule meetings.
- In the top-right corner, click on the “New meeting” button.
Fill in Meeting Details:
- Add the meeting title in the “Title” field.
- Choose a date and time for your meeting.
- Set the duration of the meeting.
- You can also add a location, although this is optional.
- Now it’s time to start adding the people you wish to attend!
Need to see when people are free?
Click on “Scheduling Assistant” to see the availability of participants if your Teams is connected to your organisation’s calendar system.
Most Importantly...
Save your meeting!
Click on the “Save” button to schedule your meeting.
Join Your Meeting:
- When it’s time for your meeting, go back to the Calendar.
- Click on your meeting, then click “Join” to enter the meeting.
- Use buttons to turn your camera and microphone on/off.
- Share your screen or chat with others if needed.
When you’re done, click “End meeting” to finish.
So that’s it, easy peasy! You’ve successfully created and joined a Teams meeting. Remember, you can always explore more features as you get comfortable with Teams.
Remember that the steps might vary slightly depending on the version of Microsoft Teams you are using, as there might be updates or changes over time.
